Although we were not planning to breed our AKC registered silver Labrador Retriever Mischa until her second heat this winter, she had other plans. We came home from the movies last summer to discover that Mischa had opened not one, but two interior doors and bred herself to our AKC registered black/white Parti Standard Poodle. That means that if anyone buys breeding rights, their puppy carries a silver gene and a parti gene that won't show up in the coat of an F1b Labradoodle unless it is mated to a silver or brown Poodle or to a poodle that is either parti-colored, or parti-factored. Please note: if you don't neuter your dog by four months of age, we will not honor the health guarantee. Additionally, mating to one of our puppies requires an extra fee.

Now we think she did the right thing. The Labradoodles are just magical. Great personalities, great dispositions, wonderful, slightly curly hair. And they eat 1/2 of what a Lab of the same size consumes.

Labradoodles are wonderful dogs with few health issues because they are a hybrid cross between two very intelligent and hardy breeds. (They were President's Obama second choice for a "First Dog.") They shed less than full Labradors and have really gorgeous coats. Getting a parti-factored Labradoodle out of parents with AKC registration and from a mother that passed on so many fine traits in her first litter is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. We won't be having a repeat breeding.
